Media Buzz: Denver Broncos Wide Receiver found Dead in Possible Suicide

So sad. Denver Broncos wide receiver Kenny McKinley was found dead Monday afternoon in a Colorado home. Authorities said it appeared McKinley died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was just 23 years old.

Reports say:

"Deputies discovered a male in the second-floor master bedroom of the home and determined that male was deceased," the Arapahoe County sheriff's department said in a statement. "Although the death of Mr. McKinley appears to be the result of a self-inflicted gunshot, the investigation into this matter ... is ongoing."

McKinley was two years into the league, but his young career had been frustrated by injuries. At the time of his death, this vibrant Georgia native was out for the season while recovering from his recent knee surgery. A sports columnist, Don Banks, writes:

"For a young man who was the University of South Carolina's all-time leading receiver during a standout collegiate career, perhaps the lack of NFL success was a demoralizing development."
